WHITE MOUNTAINEERING FOOTWEAR

Bad name, rad shoes! Caught off Hypebeast this is the latest offering from Japanese footwear company White Mountaineering.....and i'm all over em! The nicest desert boots in my eyes are always the ones which maintain a clean, cut back aesthetic. Although these boots flaunt embroidered patterns up front and on the collar it's the refine details such as the narrow eyelets and fine woven laces that shine through capturing an essence of simplicity. This classic styling, reminiscent of renowned dessert boot makers such as Clarks is for me the perfect recipe for the modern day desert boot. Other highlights such as the attention to detail, build quality and feature of luxury materials such as a seude upper and leather lining boasts an all round beautifully crafted piece of footwear.
If I hear of any stocklists hitting the UK these are mine!!!

KRINK

Is it me or does Krink have the most powerful, clean cut, heavy appeal packaging you've ever seen. Every aspect of Krink's catalog from their mops to their tees flaunts flawless graphic design. The highlight for me though, Krinks finest, the markers. Just take a look at those three beauties above, the hard angular type, the varied font weight and meticulously placed logos all neatly wrapped up together and finished in super cool metallic silver, i mean what kid wouldn't want to pick up one of these and start hitting up the nearest door way. Hailing from New York graffiti artist KR* has come along way since bombing the west coast of America in the 1980's. Selling his secret ink concoction to stores around the states KR* has made a name for himself supplying the world's graffiti writers with the most dirty, drippy and colourful markers on the planet and managed grab himself a tonne of respectable collaborations along the way, working with big names such as Nike, Levis and BMW.

BIG IN THE GAME

Whilst we're keeping our pens down here at Two The Nines, i thought i'd give you a heads up on one of my favourite street wear heros, Shawn Stussy. Shawn is the founder and creater of 'Stussy' clothing, one of the most iconic and most influential street wear brands of all time. The company was born in California in 1979 with the first sign of Shawn's signature surname appearing on his home made surf boards and t-shirts. Heavily influenced by Shawn's love for surf, skate and punk the brand quickly established it self as the new generations favourite and had gained a flagship store and international sales by 1988. I was bummed to find out Shawn left the company at it's peak in 1996. I mean i have to say over a decade later and the brand is still looking pretty strong but i can't help feeling the magics not all there with out Shawn behind the wheel, with sight of similar designs popping up over the years maybe the brand is becoming watered down? Never the less i still feel Stussy have produced some of the most innovative and original prints i have seen in the street wear biz, the signature hand writing, chic simplicity, the funky Cali colour ways all teamed up to boast an almost effortless clean cut cool. For those interested Shawn now has a new company running called 'Double S' go check it out along with his blog.

FIRST THINGS FIRST

Shit ok first post. I've been putting in the ground work for this for a while now and in doing so it's become apparent that it's something i've wanted to do for a very long time. Born on the 09/09/09 Two The Nines has been bubbling under the surface ready to steal spots in peoples hearts and hopefully peoples wardrobes.
Feeling fearless and funky fresh we are ready to hit the printers and show you what we're made of.

Lets hope 2010 is a good year, with a good summer.

Stay tuned.
